Bulk food sourcing request: produce, seafood, eggs and poultry
Tell us the product and specification, destination, volume, delivery window and required certifications. Our team reviews the request, approaches suitable producers and exporters on your behalf and returns offers you can compare.
In short
Fresh produce importers, wholesalers, processors and large retailers looking for bulk fruit and vegetable suppliers, wholesale seafood suppliers, egg or poultry suppliers can send one structured request for a recurring or seasonal supply programme of USD 250,000 or more. The request is free. Our team reviews it, clarifies the specification, approaches suitable producers and exporters, and returns comparable, documented offers; screened introductions follow only after review and your approval. We coordinate the sourcing — we do not own farms, hold stock or resell produce, and we do not guarantee volumes, prices or outcomes.
One group across the value chain
| Stage | What we do | Where it is handled |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Plan and build | Scoping, CAPEX planning and sourcing of farm and processing infrastructure | Specialist platforms (SeedMatch, HatchMatch, FishMatch, ColdMatch) and Global B2B Group for lines and multi-sector projects |
| 2. Production inputs | Sourcing of feed, seed, propagation material and other inputs | FeedMatch, SeedMatch |
| 3. Market-ready supply | Procurement coordination of produce, poultry, eggs and aquaculture products for qualified buyers | Global B2B Group (this page) |
What we cover
- Fresh greenhouse and field produce — vegetables, fruit, herbs.
- Poultry meat (whole birds and cuts), table eggs and hatching eggs — hatching-egg characteristics only where the supplier can evidence them.
- Fish, shrimp and other aquaculture products, fresh or frozen.
- Recurring year-round programmes, seasonal programmes and trial shipments ahead of a programme.
Why companies use a sourcing partner
Cross-border supplier discovery takes time
Finding producers and exporters in other countries, checking which of them can serve your market in your season, and getting real answers usually means many calls and emails before one usable quote arrives.
Supplier information is inconsistent
Quotes arrive on different Incoterms® rules, units, pack sizes and currencies, and documents are at different stages, so comparing them means rework.
Many things must be compared at once
Specification, commercial terms, volume and availability, documentation, delivery conditions and risk all have to line up for one programme.
Fragmented communication slows decisions
Separate threads with several suppliers, forwarders and colleagues make it hard to see what is confirmed and what is still open.
What a structured, buyer-first process can change
- Less coordination effort for your team: one request and one point of contact, while our team follows up with suppliers.
- A wider view of potential supply, including origins, seasons and suppliers you may not already know.
- Offers that are easier to compare, requested on one specification and, where possible, one delivery term, unit and currency.
- Questions surfaced earlier: gaps in specification, documents or logistics are listed before you commit.
These are aims of the process, not guaranteed results. We do not promise savings, supply, quality, exclusive access or the removal of risk.
From RFQ to decision in five steps
- Step 1
You submit a structured RFQ
Product and specification (variety or species, grade, size or count, fresh, chilled or frozen), quantity per shipment and per season, timing or season, preferred origins and destination, the certifications and documents your market requires, packaging and labelling, and your preferred Incoterms® rule.
- Step 2
We clarify the need and identify potential suppliers
A person on our team reviews the request, asks about missing details, checks the declared programme value and runs trade-compliance screening, then looks for producers and exporters that may fit.
- Step 3
We coordinate supplier questions and collect comparable information
Our team asks suppliers the same questions on your behalf, without your company's name, and collects specifications, availability, documents and quotations where suppliers provide them.
- Step 4
We review the options with you
Price, specification, volume, availability window, documentation, delivery and logistics assumptions and open risks are set side by side, each figure labelled by how far it has been checked. We then agree next steps with you, such as samples or further questions.
- Step 5
You decide whether to proceed
To go ahead with an option, you approve an introduction to that supplier; our team keeps coordinating open points, and the contract, payment terms and any inspection are agreed between you and the supplier. If nothing fits, you can adjust or close the request at no cost.
Premium lane: cherries, avocados, berries, mangoes, table grapes and citrus
Premium here means a tighter written specification, not a label. Each premium fruit has its own RFQ worksheet that carries your answers into the request form. The request is reviewed like any other, and nothing is claimed about grade, origin or freshness until a supplier documents it for your RFQ.
A premium RFQ should state
- Origin: acceptable growing countries or regions
- Season or harvest window, with first and last arrival
- Grade or class and calibre
- Size or count per pack
- Packaging, pack format and labelling
- Volume per shipment and per season
- Traceability and certification documents your market requires
- Temperature and cold-chain requirements in transit
- Destination port or warehouse
- Delivery terms: Incoterms® rule and named place
Specification and RFQ worksheet for:
Premium seafood and shrimp, eggs and poultry use the same request form, opened at their own category:
What we check — and what we don't
What our team does
- Reviews the profile information and documents a supplier provides (products, specifications, certificates, export markets) against your request.
- Labels every figure and document as pending, an estimate, supplier-quoted or independently checked. "Independently checked" is used only when we have compared it with the original document or the issuing body.
- Runs trade-compliance screening, which must clear before a supplier is shortlisted.
What we do not do
- On-site audits of farms, packhouses, vessels or plants, or inspection or laboratory testing of products.
- Certify products or suppliers, or give legal, food-safety, technical or certification guarantees.
- Act as producer, seller of record, importer of record, customs broker or carrier, or take ownership of goods.
Offers, stock, prices, delivery windows and certifications are confirmed for each RFQ. Importers keep their own legal duties — for example, supplier verification for US importers under FDA's Foreign Supplier Verification Programs rule, or traceability for EU food businesses under Regulation (EC) No 178/2002.
How your information is kept confidential
- Your RFQ, documents and company details are treated as confidential; they are not published or used for marketing.
- Suppliers are approached without your company's name or contact details. These are shared only when you approve an introduction to a specific supplier.
- Supplier questions and answers run through our team, so you do not have to manage a separate thread with each supplier.
Start with one structured RFQ
Free for buyers. For programmes from USD 250,000 in total annual or seasonal value; smaller requests are kept on file without supplier outreach.
Submit a produce, seafood or egg RFQKnow what you are buying before you commit
Know what you are buying, from whom, to which specification, and what is expected to arrive at destination before you commit. Your request fixes these points once; every supplier is asked to answer them on the same basis, and every answer is labelled with how far it has been checked.
| Buyer question | What your request fixes | How offers are shown to you |
|---|---|---|
| Will the product match my specification? | Commodity and variety, grade or class, size or count, quality standard and tolerances, packaging | Each offer on the same rows, with gaps listed and every value labelled pending, estimate, supplier-quoted or independently checked |
| Will it arrive on time and in condition? | Origin, delivery window, temperature and handling, minimum shelf life on arrival | Availability, lead time, delivery, shelf life and handling rows; an answer not given stays marked missing |
| Will it meet import requirements? | Destination, required certificates and documents, HS code if you know it | Documents listed with their status; whether goods are admitted is decided by the destination authorities, with your customs broker |
| Will it stay profitable after landed costs? | Incoterms® rule and place, target price, target landed cost | Price with currency, unit and Incoterms® rule; a landed-cost total only when every cost line is known in one currency and unit |
| Who am I dealing with? | Origin preference and the certifications you require | Product origin, supplier location and evidence first; the supplier's name only after you approve an introduction. Your contact details stay private |
Documents and checks you can ask for
- Phytosanitary certificate (plant products) or veterinary health certificate (animal products), issued by the exporting country's competent authority.
- Certificate of origin.
- Certification certificates the supplier names (for example GLOBALG.A.P. or BRCGS). Where we can, we check them with the issuing body and label the result.
- Laboratory analysis, such as residue testing, or an independent pre-shipment or arrival inspection report, if the supplier has one or you ask for one.
- Packing list, lot traceability and temperature records for the shipment.
Which documents exist depends on the product, origin and destination. We ask for them and show their status. The producer or exporter is responsible for the product and its export documents; the importer is responsible for import clearance, duties and destination compliance. We do not issue certificates, decide admissibility or guarantee quality, delivery or a final landed price.
- Import duties and entry requirements for fruit and vegetables
- Printable specification template
- Agricultural landed-cost estimator
Why these rows: they follow concerns commonly reported by commercial food buyers across the industry, namely specification match, timing and spoilage, import requirements and landed cost. This is an industry-based assumption, not a survey of our own customers. We will review it against anonymised, aggregated request and offer patterns once enough requests have been handled.
Managed sourcing compared with open trade networks
Many agri-food platforms let buyers browse supplier profiles or broadcast a request and then talk to suppliers directly. Our model is narrower and buyer-side. This is a description of operating models, not a ranking of any company.
| Question | Typical open network or directory | Global B2B Group managed request |
|---|---|---|
| Who contacts suppliers? | The buyer, after browsing or receiving responses | Our team, on the buyer's behalf |
| When are contact details shared? | Often once either side accepts a connection | Only after review and the buyer's approval of a specific introduction |
| How are offers presented? | As each supplier submits them | Requested on one specification and delivery term so they can be compared |
| Minimum size | Varies by platform | USD 250,000 total annual or seasonal programme value |
| Cost to the buyer | Varies — free tiers, subscriptions or fees | Free buyer requests |
| Production capability | Usually out of scope | Separate path to processing, packaging and production projects via our specialist platforms |
Cross-border requirements to verify
These vary by product, origin and destination. Treat them as questions to confirm for each route, not a fixed checklist.
- Traceability records back to farm, house or pond lot.
- Phytosanitary certificates for plant products; veterinary health certificates for poultry, eggs and aquaculture products.
- Export certificates and certificates of origin; eligibility of the producing establishment for the destination market.
- Import-country food-safety, residue and quality checks at border or on arrival.
- Suitable cold-chain logistics — temperature, pre-cooling, reefer capacity and transit time.

Responsibilities in produce sourcing
- The seller or producer is responsible for truthful product details, origin, grade and condition, availability, traceability, required permits and certificates, food safety, packaging and applicable trade documents.
- Global B2B Group reviews requests, approaches suitable producers, asks for evidence and presents offers. It does not certify products, inspect shipments or guarantee that a deal will be concluded.
- Buyers carry out their own due diligence before contracting. Nothing here limits rights that cannot be waived under applicable law, or changes the terms of any machinery project.
How this fits the wider group: From project setup to agricultural output sourcing.
Request a produce, seafood or poultry supply programme
For importers, distributors, wholesalers, retailers, food-service buyers and processors. Buyer RFQs are free. The USD 250,000 minimum applies to the total annual or seasonal programme value you declare — not to each shipment. Smaller programmes are kept on file but do not enter supplier outreach.
Fields marked * are required. Leave anything you don't know blank — it is recorded as "unknown", not guessed. We do not list or promise stock; every offer is sourced for your request. Availability, origin, certificates, prices and lead times are confirmed only after verification for your request; the producer or supplier remains responsible for the product and its documents.

Free for buyers, with no paid placement: no supplier pays to be included or recommended; Global B2B Group is paid by the supplier side only after a deal proceeds. Global B2B Group coordinates sourcing only — it is not a producer, trader, importer of record or logistics provider, and does not guarantee supply, quality, prices or savings. Programmes from USD 250,000 total annual or seasonal value.
Frequently asked questions
Does Global B2B Group buy or sell produce?
No. We do not own farms, hold inventory or trade on our own account. We coordinate sourcing on the buyer's behalf: we scope the programme, approach suitable producers and exporters, and present comparable offers. Contracts are made directly between buyer and supplier.
How does the USD 250,000 minimum apply?
It applies to the total annual or seasonal programme value, not to each shipment. Smaller requests are kept on file but do not enter supplier outreach.
Which products are covered?
Fresh greenhouse and field produce, poultry meat and eggs, and fish, shrimp and other aquaculture products — the sectors our group already works in.
When are supplier and buyer identities shared?
Only after our team has reviewed the request and you approve a specific introduction. Until then, neither side receives the other's name or contact details.
Can you source avocado, cherries or tomatoes?
Yes, as a request-based programme. Tell us the variety, class, size or count, pack, origin preference, destination and delivery window. We approach growers and exporters that fit and return offers on one comparable basis; we hold no stock and publish no price list.
Do you work with wholesale shrimp and fish suppliers?
Yes. Specify species, farmed or wild-caught, size or count, presentation, fresh, frozen or IQF form, glaze and packing, plus the health and traceability documents your destination requires. Farm and hatchery infrastructure is handled by FishMatch, not this page.
Do you source table eggs and hatching eggs?
Both, as separate requests. Table-egg requests cover grade, size, pack and volume. For hatching eggs we only present characteristics — such as flock age or health status — that the supplier can evidence; anything else is marked unknown.
What do produce, seafood or egg prices look like?
We do not publish prices. They depend on specification, origin, volume, season, destination and trade terms (Incoterms). Use the buyer cost tools on this page with your own quotes to compare landed cost.
What is not provided?
We do not sell product, hold inventory, issue certificates, arrange financing on your behalf, or guarantee volumes, prices or outcomes. Supplier identities and your contact details are exchanged only after review and your approval.
Which documents will a shipment need?
It depends on the product, origin and destination. Typical items to verify include phytosanitary or veterinary health certificates, export certificates, certificates of origin, traceability records and the importing country's food-safety and quality checks. Confirm each with the competent authorities for your route.
Is there a fee for buyers?
No. Buyer RFQs and the cost tools on this page are free. Assisted sourcing applies to programmes of USD 250,000 or more in total annual or seasonal value.
What happens after I submit a request?
A person on our team reviews it, may ask clarifying questions, and confirms whether it qualifies. Qualifying requests go to supplier outreach; you then receive comparable offers and decide whether to approve a screened introduction. There is no promise of a match, price or delivery.
Will I get updates while my request is handled?
Yes. Sign in to the buyer portal with the same work email to see the status from our team. A step is marked completed only when our team has done it. We do not promise a fixed response time: it depends on the product, the season and how quickly suppliers answer.
How are supplier offers compared?
Every option is shown on the same rows: price with currency, unit and Incoterms® rule; product offered (variety or species, grade, size); origin; availability window; packaging; shelf life on arrival; temperature and handling; minimum order; capacity; lead time; delivery; and documents. Each value is labelled as pending, an estimate, supplier-quoted or independently checked by our team. Missing information is listed as missing, never filled in.
I am a fresh produce exporter or supplier. How do I take part?
Present your products through the supplier application. We review the details you provide — products, specifications, volumes, certificates and export markets — before considering you for a buyer request. Buyer contact details are never shared without review.
How is this different from an open B2B marketplace?
Open marketplaces usually let buyers and suppliers find and contact each other directly. Here our team structures your request, approaches suppliers for you and returns offers on one comparable basis; identities are shared only after review and your approval.
How can I know what I am buying before I commit?
Fix the specification in one request: variety, grade, size, quality standard and tolerances, packaging, minimum shelf life on arrival, temperature and handling, documents and trade terms. Every supplier is asked to answer on those same points, and each answer is labelled pending, estimate, supplier-quoted or independently checked. Missing answers are shown as missing. You decide only after seeing this, and nothing is ordered through us.
Can you tell me the landed cost before I buy?
Only as far as the figures support it. Offers show price with currency, unit and Incoterms® rule. A landed-cost total is shown only when every cost line, such as freight, handling, storage or duty, is known in one currency and unit; otherwise the missing lines are listed. Duty and clearance figures come from your customs broker or the destination authority. We do not guarantee a final landed price.
What if the delivered goods do not match the specification?
The contract between you and the supplier sets the specification, tolerances, inspection and claims procedure, so put them in your request and in the contract. You can ask for a pre-shipment or arrival inspection by an independent inspection company. Global B2B Group is not a party to the sale and does not guarantee quality or delivery.
Why use a sourcing partner instead of contacting suppliers directly?
Contacting suppliers directly can work when you already know the market. A sourcing partner helps when you need a wider search across origins or seasons, offers on one comparable basis and one coordinated channel for questions. Global B2B Group does this on the buyer's behalf, free for buyers, for programmes from USD 250,000; it does not guarantee savings, supply or quality.
What checks do you carry out on suppliers?
We review the profile information and documents suppliers provide against your request, label each item by how far it has been checked, and run trade-compliance screening before a supplier is shortlisted. We do not carry out on-site audits, product inspections or laboratory tests, and we do not certify suppliers; those need to be arranged separately, for example with an independent inspection company.
Will suppliers see my company name or contact details?
Not during outreach. Our team approaches suppliers without your company's name or contact details and coordinates their questions. Your identity is shared only when you approve an introduction to a specific supplier.
What happens after I choose an offer?
You approve an introduction to that supplier. Our team keeps coordinating open points such as samples or document questions, and the contract, payment terms and any inspection are agreed between you and the supplier. Availability, prices and delivery windows are confirmed for your RFQ at that stage.
Who is responsible for regulatory requirements?
Each party, for its own role, as applicable law sets out. Suppliers are responsible for the products and shipments they offer and supply meeting the requirements of the origin and destination countries — for example safety, quality, labelling, traceability, sanitary or phytosanitary certificates and export documents, where relevant. As the buyer, you remain responsible for your import permissions, local requirements and due diligence. Global B2B Group facilitates the sourcing and RFQ process, does not itself produce or export the goods and does not guarantee any supplier's compliance. Requirements differ by product and country; the Regulation & restricted items page lists official sources.
