Wholesale shrimp and prawn sourcing
Raw and cooked, farmed and wild-caught shrimp and prawns, specified by count, presentation, glaze and packing.
The short answer
Global B2B Group helps importers, distributors, retailers and processors source shrimp and prawns through one reviewed request. You state species, origin, presentation, count size, glaze, packing, volume and destination; our project team reviews the request and, for programmes with a declared value from USD 250,000 per year or season, contacts suitable farms, processors and exporters on your behalf and returns comparable offers. We do not publish shrimp prices: quotes depend on species, count, presentation, glaze, origin and terms. We do not farm, process, import or ship shrimp, and the service is free for buyers.

What you can request
Requests are reviewed by species and presentation. Typical groups:
Whiteleg shrimp
Penaeus vannamei (also written Litopenaeus vannamei), the main farmed species in international trade.
Black tiger shrimp
Penaeus monodon, usually in larger count sizes.
Wild-caught shrimp and prawns
Named species from specified fishing areas, where the buyer's market accepts them.
Cooked and prepared formats
Cooked and peeled, butterfly, skewered or other formats made to your specification.
Who uses this
- Seafood importers and distributors
- Retail chains with frozen and chilled ranges
- Food-service and restaurant groups
- Processors and re-packers
What a supplier needs to quote
Two shrimp quotes are only comparable when they describe the same product on the same weight basis:
- Species and origin
- Common and scientific name, farmed or wild-caught, and the origins you accept.
- Presentation
- HOSO (head-on, shell-on), HLSO (headless, shell-on), PUD (peeled, undeveined), PD (peeled and deveined), PDTO (tail-on) or another stated format.
- Count size
- Pieces per pound or per kilogram — state which, e.g. 21/25 per lb — and whether the count applies before or after cooking and glazing.
- Raw or cooked, and freezing
- Raw or cooked; IQF or block frozen.
- Glaze and net weight
- Maximum glaze, and whether the quoted weight and price are net of glaze.
- Treatment and additives
- Any processing aids or additives your market or customers do not accept.
- Packing, volume and terms
- Inner and master carton weights, labelling, volume per container, frequency, storage temperature, Incoterm, port and documents.

How a sourcing request works
1. Define
Describe the product, specification, volume per delivery, frequency, season, packaging, destination and Incoterm in the free request form.
2. Declare the programme value
State the total annual or seasonal value. Programmes from USD 250,000 move to supplier outreach; smaller requests are kept on file.
3. Review
Our project team checks the request for completeness and fit and asks clarifying questions before anyone is contacted.
4. Compare and decide
We approach suitable producers, packers or exporters on your behalf and return their offers side by side. Any introduction happens only with your approval.

Buyer questions
What does a count such as 21/25 mean?
It is the number of pieces in a unit of weight: 21/25 per lb means 21 to 25 pieces per pound. Always confirm whether the count is per pound or per kilogram and whether it refers to the frozen, glazed or cooked product.
Why do two quotes for the same count differ so much?
Glaze, net versus gross weight, presentation, cooked or raw, packing and the Incoterm all change the price per usable kilogram. The landed-cost estimator puts quotes on the same basis using your own figures.
Do you publish shrimp prices?
No. We do not publish prices or market rates. Suppliers quote against your specification after our team has reviewed the request.
What is the minimum for a shrimp sourcing request?
A declared programme value from USD 250,000 per year or season. Smaller requests are kept on file but do not move to supplier outreach.
Do you supply shrimp farms or hatcheries?
Not through this page. Farm, hatchery and processing projects are handled by our specialist platform FishMatch.
What this service does not do
- We do not grow, catch, farm, pack, import, export or ship products, and we do not hold stock.
- We do not publish supplier lists, contact details, live offers or market prices.
- Availability, price and delivery depend on season, origin, health rules and supplier capacity; nothing on this page is an offer or a guarantee.
- Offers are returned as received. Our comparison does not certify quality, food safety, certification status or delivery performance.
- Import rules, duties and documents depend on the product and destination; confirm them with the competent authority.
