Cross-sector agri-food projects
Custom Agricultural Production, Processing & Packaging Lines
A complete agricultural line takes raw material from intake to a packed, stored product. This page shows which stages belong in the scope, what suppliers need to quote it, and which specialist platform fits a single-sector project.
Short answer
A custom agricultural production line is a coordinated set of equipment that takes a raw farm, fish, poultry or feed material from intake through cleaning, processing, inspection, packing and storage to a finished product at a stated capacity. To scope one, a buyer defines the product, the finished-output capacity with its shift basis and yield, the packaging format, the site and utilities, and which supplier owns each interface. Those inputs let several suppliers quote the same scope so proposals can be compared.
From intake to finished product
Stage 1
Intake & receiving
Weighbridge, bin or box tipping, silo or tank intake, sampling and lot traceability.
Stage 2
Cleaning & preparation
Washing, pre-cleaning, destoning, drying, defrosting or pre-cooling as the product requires.
Stage 3
Processing
Sorting, grading, cutting, grinding, mixing, extrusion, pelleting, filleting or other core process steps.
Stage 4
Inspection & quality
Optical grading, weighing, metal detection, X-ray and sampling points with defined reject handling.
Stage 5
Packing & labelling
Primary pack (bags, trays, punnets, cartons, bulk), weighing, sealing, coding and labelling.
Stage 6
End of line & storage
Case packing, palletising, stretch wrapping, chilled or frozen storage and dispatch.
Stage 7
Utilities & controls
Power, water, steam, compressed air, refrigeration, effluent, PLC/SCADA and line-level data.
Interfaces between stages — conveyor heights, buffer capacity, control signals and utility connections — are where multi-supplier projects most often fail. Define them in the RFQ so every quotation covers them.
Project pathways by sector
Single-sector projects go to the specialist platform. Projects that combine sectors stay with Global B2B Group.

Scenario B
Enter all values to see results.
What each result means — worked example
Inputs: 8 t/h output, 16 h/day, 250 days/year, 80% yield, peak factor 1.25.
- Raw input / h — raw material the intake must receive: 8 ÷ 0.80 = 10 t/h.
- Design output / h — capacity to ask suppliers for at peak: 8 × 1.25 = 10 t/h.
- Design input / h — intake and cleaning sizing at peak: 10 ÷ 0.80 = 12.5 t/h.
- Output / day — 8 × 16 = 128 t.
- Output / year — 128 × 250 = 32,000 t.
- Raw input / year — material to source: 32,000 ÷ 0.80 = 40,000 t.
Formulas: raw input = output ÷ (yield ÷ 100); design capacity = output × peak factor; annual output = output × hours × days. All values are yours — no defaults are assumed. Results are indicative planning figures, not an engineering design or a supplier quote.
What to include in an RFQ for a custom production line
| RFQ item | What suppliers need |
|---|---|
| Product & raw material | Variety or species, form, size range, moisture or temperature, seasonal variation |
| Capacity basis | Finished output per hour, hours per day, days per year, yield %, peak factor |
| Process stages | Which of the seven stages are in scope and any manual steps |
| Packaging | Pack type, pack weight, labelling, palletising, export-market requirements |
| Site & utilities | Greenfield or existing building, floor area, power, water, steam, air, refrigeration, effluent |
| Automation | Manual, semi-automatic or fully automated; data and control expectations |
| Commercial scope | Installation, commissioning, training, spares, warranty and after-sales — in or out |
| Timeline & budget | Target start of production; budget range (from USD 250,000) |
How to compare proposals for a multi-supplier project
| Check | Question to answer |
|---|---|
| Scope coverage | Does the proposal cover every stage and interface you defined? |
| Capacity guarantee | Which capacity is guaranteed, at what yield and under which conditions? |
| Interfaces | Who owns conveyor transfers, controls integration and utility connections? |
| Services | Installation, commissioning, training and spares — included, optional or excluded? |
| Lead time & terms | Delivery, payment terms, price validity and warranty period |
| Price | Compared last, only between proposals with equivalent scope |

Scoping checklist before you request quotes
- Product and input material: variety, form, size, moisture or temperature, seasonal variation
- Target capacity: unit (t/h, packs/min, birds/h, eggs/h), shifts per day, peak versus average
- Finished product and packaging: pack format, pack weight, labelling and market requirements
- Site status: greenfield, existing building or expansion of a running line; available floor area
- Utilities on site: power supply, water, steam, compressed air, refrigeration, effluent
- Automation level: manual, semi-automatic or fully automated, and labour availability
- Food-safety or export standard the line must meet
- Scope split: installation, commissioning, training, spares and after-sales — in or out per supplier
- Target start of production and budget range (projects from USD 250,000)
What Global B2B Group does for the buyer
- Define requirements and capacity basis
- Prepare one structured RFQ for the whole line
- Identify relevant independent suppliers or integrators
- Compare responses scope-by-scope before price
Free for buyers. Every project is reviewed by the Global B2B Group project team before any supplier introduction. Suppliers, availability, pricing, financing and outcomes must be verified for each request.
Questions buyers ask
Can one RFQ cover a complete agricultural line rather than a single machine?
Yes. The RFQ describes the whole flow from intake to dispatch with a stated capacity basis, so suppliers or integrators quote the same scope and the interfaces between stages are visible in the comparison.
Should I buy from one turnkey integrator or several equipment suppliers?
A single integrator simplifies responsibility for overall capacity and interfaces; several specialists can give stronger technology per stage. The choice should be made at scope stage. Either way, someone must own the interfaces, utilities and the overall performance guarantee.
When does the project belong on a specialist platform?
When the project sits inside one vertical — for example a hatchery, a RAS farm or a feed mill — the matching specialist platform handles it. Global B2B Group handles projects that combine several verticals, such as a packing line with cold storage, or a processing plant that spans more than one sector.
Does Global B2B Group manufacture, install or guarantee the line?
No. Global B2B Group works on the buyer's side: it helps define requirements, prepare a structured RFQ, identify independent suppliers or integrators and compare responses. Suppliers, equipment availability, pricing, financing and project outcomes must be verified for each request.
Is there a cost for buyers?
The buyer service is free. Projects are reviewed by the Global B2B Group project team before any supplier introduction; the minimum project size is USD 250,000.
