Buyer guide

How we source and compare supplier offers for agricultural produce and production lines

Global B2B Group is a buyer-first sourcing and procurement service for business buyers. We are not a manufacturer, grower, supplier, certifier, inspector or logistics operator. Our team turns your requirement into a clear specification, looks for suitable supply worldwide, checks fit and evidence, compares offers on the same basis and presents a short, anonymised shortlist for your decision.

Free for buyers · Assisted sourcing from USD 250,000 declared programme value · Suppliers introduced only after review and your approval

Process

Our sourcing process, step by step

  1. 1. Understand the requirement

We read your request and turn it into one normalized specification: product or machine, grade or performance, quantity and season, destination, packaging, documents and commercial terms. Gaps become questions to you before anyone is contacted.

  2. 2. Check scale and fit for our service

Assisted sourcing starts at a declared annual or seasonal programme value of USD 250,000. Smaller requests are kept on file and pointed to the free buyer tools; we do not promise outreach for them.

  3. 3. Search supply options

Our team looks for possible producers, exporters or manufacturers worldwide, including specialist routes for seafood, poultry and eggs, seeds, feed and cold chain, and asks them for information on your behalf. Your identity is not shared at this stage.

  4. 4. Assess fit and collect evidence

Each response is checked against the same specification. We record what matches, what deviates and which documents exist, and we label every figure by how far it has been checked.

  5. 5. Compare offers on the same basis

Offers are brought to one Incoterms® rule, unit and currency where the data allows, and landed-cost components are listed only when they are supported by a quote or a dated source.

  6. 6. Present a concise shortlist

You receive a short, anonymised comparison with open questions. A supplier is named and introduced only after our team approves it and you agree; all follow-up still runs through us.

  7. 7. Coordinate next procurement steps

With you, our team coordinates samples, quality inspection, factory acceptance testing for machinery, contract terms and logistics. The supplier remains responsible for the product, its origin and its compliance.

Fit assessment

How we evaluate supplier fit

We do not rank suppliers with a single opaque score. Each option is described against the same seven areas, with what matches, what deviates and what is still unknown.

Specification match

Variety or species, grade, size or calibre, form (fresh, chilled, frozen, processed) — or, for equipment, capacity, process steps, utilities and acceptance criteria.

Volume and continuity

Minimum order quantity, available volume per week or season, and whether the supplier can hold the programme across your delivery window.

Evidence and documents

Certificates the supplier holds, test reports, traceability and health documents, references — each marked pending, supplier-quoted or independently checked.

Destination compliance

Import requirements of your market, labelling, residue or contaminant limits, religious certification if required, and machinery safety marking.

Logistics and handling

Port or airport access, cold-chain and temperature control, packing and palletisation, transit time, and who handles which leg under the chosen Incoterms® rule.

Commercial terms

Price basis and validity, payment terms, lead time and what is included or excluded — so a lower headline price is not mistaken for a lower total cost.

Risks and open questions

Single-site supply, certificates close to expiry, transit time near shelf-life limits, unproven acceptance tests — written down per option, with the questions that still need an answer from you or the supplier.

Evidence

How every figure and document is labelled

LabelWhat it means for you
PendingRequested or not yet known — do not rely on it.
IndicativeEstimate from a dated source with stated assumptions — not an offer.
Supplier-quotedStated or quoted by the supplier — not yet independently checked by our team.
Independently checkedChecked by our team against the original document or the issuing body — not only the supplier's word.

Prices are always marked as a supplier quote (with its date) or as an indicative estimate (with source, date and assumptions). We do not publish market prices, stock levels or availability.

Before you submit

What evidence and information buyers should prepare

Produce, seafood, poultry and eggs

  • Product, variety or species, and acceptable alternatives
  • Grade or class, size or count, and fresh / chilled / frozen form
  • Volume per shipment and per season, and the delivery window
  • Destination country and port, and your preferred Incoterms® rule
  • Packaging, labelling and palletisation
  • Certifications and documents your market or customers require
  • Cold-chain or temperature requirements
  • Declared programme value and, if you have one, a target price

Special machinery and production lines

  • Product to be made and required output per hour or shift
  • Process steps in scope and what you already have on site
  • Site, utilities and space constraints, with drawings if available
  • Automation level, materials in contact with product, hygiene class
  • Standards and safety marking for the installation country
  • Acceptance criteria for factory and site acceptance tests
  • Delivery, installation and start-up timeline
  • Declared project value and budget range

You can attach specification sheets, packaging artwork, drawings or certificates you hold to your request. Unknown details can be left blank — they are recorded as unknown, not guessed.

Comparison

How multiple offers are compared

Offers rarely arrive on the same basis. One supplier quotes FOB at origin per kilogram, another CFR at your port per carton; one includes inspection, another does not. Before comparing, our team brings each offer to the same Incoterms® rule, unit and currency where the information allows, and lists what each excludes.

What your shortlist shows for each option

A side-by-side table on the same rows — supplier country, quoted price and currency, Incoterms® rule, product offered (variety or species, grade, size), product origin, availability window, packaging, MOQ, capacity, lead time, delivery, what is still missing or unconfirmed, documents and their status, requirements matched and gaps, risks and landed-cost total — followed by the detail and evidence for each option and the questions still open. Options stay anonymised until an introduction is approved.

Landed-cost components we look at

  • Product or equipment price at the quoted Incoterms® rule
  • Main carriage (ocean, air or road freight) and insurance where not included
  • Import duties, taxes and fees in the destination market
  • Port, terminal, handling and customs clearance charges
  • Inland transport to your site or warehouse
  • Inspection, testing, certification or acceptance-test costs
  • Cold storage, ripening or installation and commissioning where relevant

A component appears only when a quote or dated source supports it. A total is shown only when every listed component is known in one currency and unit; otherwise you see which part is still pending. We never fill in missing numbers to make offers look comparable.

For a first estimate on your own, use the agricultural landed-cost calculator, the supplier proposal comparison tool or read how to compare FOB, CFR and CIF quotes.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is Global B2B Group a supplier or manufacturer?

No. We are a buyer-first sourcing and procurement service. We do not grow, catch, process, manufacture, certify, inspect, ship or finance products. Our team finds and compares supply options for your request and coordinates the next steps; the supplier remains responsible for the product and its documents.

How do you decide whether a supplier fits my request?

Every response is checked against one normalized specification covering product or machine requirements, volume and continuity, documents, destination compliance, logistics and commercial terms. We record what matches, what deviates and which questions remain, rather than giving a single score.

What do the labels indicative, supplier-quoted, independently checked and pending mean?

Pending means requested or not yet known. Indicative is an estimate from a dated source with stated assumptions, not an offer. Supplier-quoted means stated or quoted by the supplier but not yet independently checked. Independently checked means our team checked it against the original document or the issuing body, not only the supplier's word.

How are several offers compared fairly?

We bring offers to the same Incoterms® rule, unit and currency where the data allows, list exclusions, and show landed-cost components only when they are supported. A total is shown only when every component is known in one currency and unit; missing figures are never filled in for you.

How should I prepare an RFQ so that offers can be compared?

Describe one specification that every supplier answers against: product or machine, grade or performance, volume and season, destination and Incoterms® rule, packaging, documents, and acceptance criteria for machinery. Say what you do not know instead of guessing, and attach drawings or specification sheets you already have.

When will I see the supplier's name and contact details?

The comparison is anonymised. A supplier is named only after our team approves an introduction and you agree. Communication continues through our team; you do not receive direct contact details before that approval.

Is there a minimum request size, and does it cost anything?

The service is free for buyers. Assisted sourcing starts at a declared annual or seasonal programme value of USD 250,000; smaller requests are kept on file without a promise of supplier outreach, and the free buyer tools remain available.
