Premium shrimp, eggs, cherries, avocados and blueberries: where they come from and where they go

A source-linked map for commercial importers: the main origin countries, known export destinations, the buyer types that usually import each product, and a step-by-step route to a reviewed sourcing request.

Prepared by the Global B2B Group project team · Sources checked · Trade figures are copied as published (WITS / UN Comtrade 2024 unless stated) and show where product moved, not available stock, suppliers or prices.

Where do importers source these products?

In the 2024 UN Comtrade tables, Ecuador and India led frozen shrimp exports and China and the United States led imports; Chile led cherry exports, mostly to China; Mexico led avocado exports and the United States led imports; Peru led fresh blueberry exports, with the United States the largest importer; and the Netherlands led shell-egg exports within a largely European trade.

Global B2B Group is a buyer-side sourcing service, not a producer, exporter or seller. Buyers use it free; our team reviews each request from USD 250,000 per year or season and handles supplier outreach on the buyer's behalf.

Frozen shrimp and prawns: Ecuador and India lead exports

Frozen farmed shrimp is a two-origin trade at the top: Ecuador and India exported the most in 2024, and China, the United States and the European Union imported the most. Each origin ships to a different mix of markets, so the destination you sell into shapes which origin and processing format fits.

Shell eggs: a largely European trade led by the Netherlands

In 2024 the Netherlands was the largest exporter of eggs in shell, and Germany the largest importer — most of the trade moves between neighbouring European countries. Türkiye ships mainly to the Gulf, Iraq and Iran. Premium egg programmes are defined by production system, grade, weight class and freshness, so specify those before comparing origins.
