Sourcing shrimp, bananas, cocoa beans and processed tuna from Ecuador: 2024 export flows to 15 importer markets

Where Ecuador's shrimp, bananas, cocoa beans and processed tuna went in 2024, what its own trade bodies report, and how one reviewed RFQ gets you comparable exporter offers. Informational only: no supplier list, endorsement or ranking.

Prepared by the Global B2B Group project team · Published · Last reviewed · Scope: Ecuador as origin; the 15 importer markets of our demand map as destinations. Trade: UN Comtrade 2024, reported by Ecuador, retrieved 25 October 2026. Each destination's import rules apply separately.

Where do Ecuador's shrimp, bananas, cocoa beans and processed tuna go, and how are exporters checked?

On Ecuador's own 2024 UN Comtrade figures, frozen shrimp was the leading lane (US$6,233.9 million; China 2,921.8 and the US 1,339.9), followed by bananas (US$3,353.9 million; US 474.7, Netherlands 286.0), cocoa beans (US$3,107.8 million; US 457.6, Belgium 351.5, Germany 325.9) and prepared tuna (US$1,410.3 million; Spain 353.7, Netherlands 162.2, UK 137.9). Exporter identities are checked privately by our team for each request.

How to read this page

Trade figures are each origin's own 2024 exports as reported to UN Comtrade, retrieved on 25 October 2026 and rounded to US$0.1 million. A market with no row is shown as "no row" — never as zero. HS 080390, 080440 and 080450 include dried fruit; HS 0804 50 also covers guavas and mangosteens. Exporter-reported figures can differ from the importing country's own statistics, and a recorded flow is not confirmation that a consignment will be admitted.

National statistics come from the origin's official bodies and trade associations and are quoted with their own period and units. No exporter, grower, packer or processor is named: our team checks supplier identities, certificates and plant approvals privately for each reviewed request.

Ecuador's 2024 exports by product to the 15 markets

Top destinations list up to five of the 15 markets with a 2024 row, highest value first. The last column lists markets with no row for that product — no recorded flow, which is different from zero.

How Ecuador exporters are checked for your request

Exporter identities are checked privately by the Global B2B Group project team for each reviewed RFQ: the exporting legal entity, the packing house or processing plant, current certificate scope and expiry, and your market's entry requirements for this product and origin. This page does not publish a supplier list or confirm current availability.

One request, several suppliers — your company stays confidential

You do not need to find and contact exporters one by one. The request path works like this:

  • You send one structured request: products, varieties or species, the origins you accept, volume per week and season, pack, destination port, arrival weeks and documents.
  • A person on our team checks it against the USD 250,000 annual or seasonal programme minimum and against the trade evidence for each origin and product.
  • Our team approaches several suitable suppliers with the same questions, without your company name or contact details.
  • You receive offers on one basis, each figure labelled as a supplier quote, an estimate or checked, with open points such as certificates still to be confirmed.
  • Your identity is shared only when you approve an introduction to a specific supplier. Buyers pay nothing.

How Global B2B Group uses this page

We do

  • Our team uses the trade evidence here to scope your request and to decide which origins and exporters to approach on your behalf
  • We ask each supplier for the exporting legal entity, current certificates with scope and expiry, and the documents your market requires before an option reaches you
  • We approach several suppliers for the same request and return their offers on one basis, without revealing your company

We do not

  • We do not publish exporter names, contact details, volumes, prices or stock, and we do not connect buyers directly with suppliers
  • We do not rank exporters, and no supplier paid or was contacted for this page
  • We do not grow, pack, process, export, import or certify, and we do not confirm that a product–origin route is admissible in your market

What to ask every Ecuador supplier before a programme

  • The exporting legal entity and the packing house or processing plant that will handle your product
  • Certificate numbers, scope and expiry for every scheme claimed — checked in the scheme's own database
  • The entry rules of your market for this product and origin, from that market's authorities
  • Variety or species, grade, size or count, pack and labelling
  • Weekly volume, shipping weeks, Incoterms® rule and named place, and offer validity
  • The declared total annual or seasonal programme value

Our team turns these points into one reviewed request and approaches suitable suppliers on your behalf. Buyers pay nothing; sourcing programmes start from USD 250,000 per year or season, and every requirement is confirmed per shipment rather than assumed.

Frequently asked questions

Where did Ecuador's cocoa beans go in 2024?

Ecuador reported US$3,107.8 million of cocoa-bean exports in 2024 (UN Comtrade, HS 180100); the top rows among our 15 markets were the United States (457.6), Belgium (351.5), Germany (325.9) and the Netherlands (319.2), in US$ million.

Which Ecuadorian tuna processors can quote?

Our team identifies and checks processors privately for each reviewed request — plant approval for your market, species, pack format and catch documentation — and returns comparable offers. No processor is named on this page.

Why are no exporters or contact details listed?

Global B2B Group is a buyer-side sourcing service, not a supplier directory. Our team approaches exporters on your behalf with the same questions, so your company stays confidential until you approve an introduction.

How are exporter certificates checked?

Before an offer reaches you, our team asks each exporter for the certificate number, scope and expiry for every scheme claimed and checks them in the scheme's own database. No exporter is named on this page.

Is there a minimum programme size?

Assisted sourcing applies to programmes from USD 250,000 in total annual or seasonal value, not per shipment. It is free for buyers.
