Importer demand map: 15 markets matched to recorded flows from Peru, Ecuador, India, Kenya and Colombia

Where fresh produce and shrimp from our five sourcing origins actually went in 2024 — product by product — so a buyer in each market can see which origins already supply it and which links are still unproven.

Prepared by the Global B2B Group project team · Published · Last reviewed · Scope: Fifteen importer markets; flows from Peru, Ecuador, India, Kenya and Colombia. Trade: UN Comtrade 2024, reported by the exporting country, retrieved 25 October 2026. Each market's import rules apply separately — confirm product–origin requirements with that market's authorities.

Which importer markets buy most from these five origins?

On 2024 UN Comtrade data reported by the exporting countries, the United States (US$6.54 billion across our product lanes), China (US$4.00 billion) and the Netherlands (US$2.13 billion) received the highest recorded flows. The United States leads on Indian and Ecuadorian frozen shrimp and Peruvian blueberries and grapes; China on Ecuadorian frozen shrimp; the Netherlands on Peruvian blueberries and avocados and Ecuadorian bananas. Spain, the United Kingdom, Italy, Belgium, France, Germany and the UAE follow; Canada, Chile, Saudi Arabia, Mexico and Qatar receive smaller, product-specific flows. These are past trade values, not demand forecasts or confirmed market access.

How to read this map

Flow values are each origin's own 2024 exports to the market as reported to UN Comtrade, in US$ thousand, for the product lanes we source: avocados (HS 080440), blueberries and other Vaccinium (081040), grapes (080610), mangoes with guavas and mangosteens (080450), bananas (080390), fresh beans (070820), frozen shrimp (030617) and prepared shrimp (160521). HS 080390, 080440 and 080450 include dried fruit.

Exporters and importers report trade differently, so these figures can differ from the importing country's own statistics. Netherlands and Belgium are EU entry points: goods declared there can be redistributed across Europe — that onward flow is a hypothesis this map does not measure.

  • Recorded flow — a 2024 Comtrade row of at least US$1 million from the origin to the market for that product.
  • Origin ranking — a destination ranking published by the origin's national body (MIDAGRI, MPEDA/PIB, AEBE, CNA, Corpohass).
  • Hypothesis — anything inferred, such as onward redistribution or likely buyer types; always labelled.
  • Colombia is shown at product–destination level only; named Colombian exporters for each flow are not yet validated.

What the origins' own statistics say

National bodies publish destination rankings on different bases — all agricultural exports, all seafood, boxes or tonnes — so they are shown as published, not combined with the table above.

  • Peru, all agricultural exports, 2024 (MIDAGRI, March 2025): United States US$4,440.7 million (34.7%), Netherlands 1,898.5 million (14.8%), Spain 814.3 million (6.4%), England 477.0 million (3.7%), Chile 451.2 million (3.5%), Mexico 445.1 million (3.5%), Ecuador 395.3 million (3.1%), Germany 329.2 million (2.6%), China 309.5 million (2.4%), Canada 308.9 million (2.4%), of a total of US$12,797.5 million.
  • India, all seafood, FY 2025-26 (Press Information Bureau, 1 June 2026): United States US$2,328.74 million, China 1,611.32 million, European Union 1,592.09 million, South-East Asia 1,348.97 million, Japan 452.91 million, Middle East 283.00 million; total US$8,455.76 million.
  • Ecuador, banana boxes, 2025 (AEBE annual statistics): EU 30.51%, Russia 20.26%, Middle East 14.85%, United States 11.36%, Southern Cone 8.00% of 378.41 million boxes.
  • Colombia, Hass avocados, 2025 (Corpohass, source DIAN): Europe 134,531 t, United States 58,601 t, Canada 2,475 t, Asia 1,968 t — grouped by region, not by country.
  • Kenya: the Agriculture and Food Authority's 2025 Year Book of Statistics, which holds the national horticulture destination ranking, could not be opened for this review — the ranking needs verification, and this map uses Kenya's own Comtrade reports for avocados and beans instead.

What this means for a buyer in each tier

The points below are editorial guidance built on the recorded flows — hypotheses to test in a request, not facts about any buyer.

  • Tier A markets (United States, China, Netherlands) already receive several origins for the same product — for example Peruvian and Colombian avocados into the Netherlands — so a consolidated request across origins can compare like-for-like offers and cover more weeks.
  • Tier B European markets receive both direct flows and goods declared at Dutch or Belgian entry points; ask each supplier where the goods will be cleared and which documents travel with them.
  • Gulf markets (UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar) show Indian and Ecuadorian flows across bananas, mangoes, grapes and shrimp; Kenyan avocados also reach the UAE.
  • Tier C markets have narrower, product-specific links — Peruvian grapes into Mexico, Ecuadorian bananas and Peruvian avocados into Chile — so start from the recorded product rather than the origin.

What Global B2B Group does — and does not do — with this map

We do

  • Match your request to origins with a recorded flow into your market, and flag origin–market pairs with no recorded trade
  • Approach several suppliers across those origins for one consolidated request, without revealing your company
  • Return offers on one basis, each figure labelled as a supplier quote, an estimate or checked

We do not

  • Grow, pack, export, import or certify products, or hold stock
  • Treat a recorded flow as confirmation that your consignment will be admitted, or forecast demand or prices
  • Publish buyer or supplier names or contact details, or connect buyers directly with suppliers before review

What to put in a multi-origin request for your market

  • Destination market and port, and who clears the goods
  • Products, varieties or species, grade and size or count
  • Origins you accept — one or several — and whether alternatives without a recorded flow may be quoted
  • Weekly volume, season total and arrival weeks
  • Documents your market requires, from the entry-rules guide for your market
  • Incoterms® rule and named place, currency and the declared total annual or seasonal programme value

Our team turns these points into one reviewed request and approaches suitable suppliers on your behalf. Buyers pay nothing; sourcing programmes start from USD 250,000 per year or season, and every requirement is confirmed per shipment rather than assumed.

Frequently asked questions

Which markets receive the most shrimp from Ecuador and India?

In 2024 China received US$2,921.8 million of Ecuadorian frozen shrimp and the United States US$1,339.9 million; the United States received US$1,853.3 million of Indian frozen shrimp and China US$740.5 million (UN Comtrade, exporter-reported, HS 030617).

Official guidance: UN Comtrade — Ecuador exports by partner, HS 030617 frozen shrimp, 2024 (reported by Ecuador)

Where do Peruvian avocados and blueberries go?

Peru's top recorded 2024 avocado destinations were the Netherlands (US$408.4 million) and Spain (US$281.8 million); for blueberries, the United States (US$1,225.7 million) and the Netherlands (US$461.9 million).

Official guidance: UN Comtrade — Peru exports by partner, HS 080440 avocados, 2024 (reported by Peru)

Does a recorded flow mean my shipment will be admitted?

No. A recorded flow shows that trade happened in 2024. Each consignment must still meet the importing market's current product–origin requirements, which the importer and exporter must confirm with that market's authorities.

Why are Colombian exporters not named?

This map shows Colombian flows at product and destination level only. Named exporters for each flow have not yet been validated against their own sources, so none is presented.

Does Global B2B Group import or export these products?

No. We are a buyer-side sourcing intermediary: our team reviews your request, approaches suitable suppliers on your behalf without revealing your company, and returns comparable offers. Buyers pay nothing.

Is there a minimum programme size?

Assisted sourcing applies to programmes from USD 250,000 in total annual or seasonal value, not per shipment.
