Outsourced industrial procurement for capital projects

Outsourced industrial procurement means an external team runs part of the buying process — scoping, supplier search, RFQs and quote comparison — while you keep the decision. It suits companies without a dedicated capital-equipment buying team, or with a one-off project such as a new line or expansion. Global B2B Group provides this as a free, supplier-neutral managed service for buyers of industrial projects typically from USD 250,000: we scope, contact suppliers on your behalf and return a comparison.

When outsourcing procurement makes sense

  • A one-off capital project your team buys rarely (new line, plant expansion, automation upgrade).
  • Suppliers are spread across several countries and languages.
  • Several suppliers must be combined into one scope (multi-supplier lines).
  • Your engineers' time is better spent on operations than on supplier search.

Outsourced procurement models compared

No model is best for every project. Choose by how much responsibility you want to transfer and how transparent you need supplier pricing to be.

Risks to manage

  • Unclear scope leading to quotes that cannot be compared.
  • Hidden exclusions (foundations, utilities, software licences, freight).
  • Supplier due diligence: references, financial standing, after-sales support.
  • Import duty, standards and voltage differences in the destination country.

Questions buyers ask

Is outsourced procurement the same as an EPC contract?

No. An EPC contractor takes delivery responsibility and usually buys equipment itself. In a managed RFQ the buyer contracts suppliers directly and keeps full visibility of their quotes.

Who pays Global B2B Group?

Buyers pay nothing. See the footer disclosure for how the group works with suppliers and partners.

Can you also arrange financing?

We are not a lender. You can flag financing interest in the RFQ and use the financing scenario calculator to test assumptions.

How long does it take?

It depends on scope completeness and suppliers' response times; the project planner gives an indicative phase timeline you can edit.

Next step

Describe the project in the RFQ builder. Our project team reviews it, contacts suppliers on your behalf and returns a comparison. Free for buyers; typically for projects from USD 250,000.
