Manufacturers & plant owners

Industrial Buyers: Sourcing Production Lines, Plants and Capital Equipment

Short answer

An industrial buyer gets a better outcome by fixing the scope before contacting suppliers, not by collecting more quotations. Global B2B Group converts the requirement into a single comparable equipment scope, issues it identically to qualified manufacturers, and compares responses on capacity, technology, lead time, commissioning, spares and payment terms. Buyers are not charged for this: the platform is supplier-neutral and compensated from the supplier side.

Who this page is for

Most industrial buyers do not have a supplier problem; they have a scope problem. Three quotations that answer three different interpretations of the same requirement cannot be compared, and the one that looks cheapest is usually the one that excluded installation, commissioning, spares or a process stage.

The workflow starts with the product and the target output, not with a machine list. Capacity basis, process stages, automation level, utilities, footprint and interfaces are fixed first. Only then are manufacturers approached — and every one of them answers the same document.

The result is a comparison that survives scrutiny: what each supplier includes, what they exclude, what they guarantee, when they deliver, and what the plant will actually cost to run. Where financing matters, pathways are screened in parallel, because equipment origin can determine which routes stay open.

  • Manufacturers adding a production line or expanding capacity
  • Plant owners planning a new facility or a modernisation programme
  • Operations and engineering directors specifying capital equipment
  • Food, beverage, agri-processing, cold-chain and packaging producers
  • Family-owned industrial groups without a dedicated sourcing department

The business problems this solves

Quotations that are not comparable

Different capacity assumptions and scope boundaries make a spreadsheet comparison misleading rather than informative.

Hidden total cost

Freight, duties, installation, commissioning, civil works, utilities, training and spares frequently exceed the delta between competing quotations.

Supplier reach limited to search results

The manufacturers that appear first online are rarely the strongest builders for a specific process.

Capacity specified by machine, not by output

Buying equipment rather than throughput produces bottlenecks at the stage nobody quoted for.

Financing decided too late

By the time financing is explored, equipment origin and structure are fixed and several pathways are already closed.

How Global B2B Group helps

Scope before suppliers

The requirement is converted into one quotable scope with a single capacity basis and explicit inclusions.

Qualified manufacturer shortlist

Builders capable of the actual process, including manufacturers outside the buyer's existing network.

Identical RFQ issuance

One document to every shortlisted supplier, so the comparison measures real differences.

Total project cost view

CAPEX planning that includes freight, duties, installation, commissioning, utilities, engineering and contingency.

Financing screened in parallel

Preliminary, non-binding screening with introductions to independent financing parties where relevant.

The working process

  1. 1

    Requirement

Product, process, target capacity, site constraints and timeline captured in buyer language.

  2. 2

    Technical scope

Conversion into comparable process stages, capacity basis, automation level and utilities.

  3. 3

    Supplier identification

Qualified manufacturers shortlisted against that scope.

  4. 4

    Quotations

The identical scope issued to every shortlisted supplier.

  5. 5

    Comparison

Technical and commercial comparison across scope, technology, lead time, commissioning, spares and terms.

  6. 6

    Award and delivery

Coordination through delivery, installation and commissioning against the agreed scope.

The same workflow is documented in how it works and in the procurement operating system.

Project examples

Representative, anonymised project types — illustrative of scope and structure, not case-study claims about named clients. Worked requirement examples are published in example RFQs.

Complete production line

One integrated line with one capacity basis, sourced across several equipment groups and manufacturers.

Cold storage and refrigeration capacity

Temperature bands, throughput and energy consumption fixed before quotation, then routed to the cold-chain specialist platform.

Packaging and end-of-line automation

Automation level and changeover requirements specified so that offers differ on capability, not on interpretation.

Plant modernisation

Selective replacement of process stages inside a line that had to keep operating during the works.

Specialist platforms in the group

Global B2B Group is the parent platform of ColdMatch Group, FishMatch Group, HatchMatch Group, SeedMatch Group and FeedMatch Group. Where a requirement is dominated by one specialist domain it is routed to the relevant platform. SkyMatch Group is a separate aviation venture and is not part of the industrial B2B ecosystem.

ColdMatch Group

ColdMatch Group is an independent B2B sourcing and project-coordination platform for commercial cold storage, industrial refrigeration and cold-chain infrastructure. It connects buyers with independent manufacturers, equipment suppliers and qualified EPC or turnkey providers.

Frequently asked questions

What does an industrial buyer pay?

Nothing for requirement intake, scope preparation, manufacturer identification or RFQ comparison. The platform operates a supplier-side fee model, disclosed openly so buyers can account for it in their own evaluation.

How many suppliers are usually compared?

Enough to make the comparison meaningful and few enough that each response is properly evaluated — typically a small shortlist of qualified manufacturers rather than a broadcast enquiry.

Can you help if the specification is not written yet?

That is the normal starting point. The workflow begins with product, output and constraints, and produces the technical scope; a finished specification is not a prerequisite.

Does Global B2B Group sell equipment or provide financing itself?

No. Global B2B Group is a supplier-neutral intermediary. It does not manufacture or sell equipment, does not lend, and does not provide financial, legal or tax advice. It prepares comparable technical scopes, identifies qualified manufacturers, structures RFQ comparison and — where relevant — introduces independent financing parties. All commercial terms are agreed directly between the buyer and the supplier or financier.

How is Global B2B Group compensated?

Through a supplier-side fee model. Buyers, consultants, EPC contractors, government bodies and development organisations are not charged for requirement intake, scope preparation or supplier matching. Compensation comes from the supplier side once a matched transaction proceeds, which is disclosed openly so buyers can factor it into their own procurement governance.

Is there a minimum project size?

The platform is built for industrial projects from approximately USD $250,000 upwards, where a structured multi-supplier comparison materially changes the outcome. Smaller enquiries are still answered, but they are usually routed to a specialist platform or to a direct supplier contact rather than run through the full comparison workflow.
