From Project Idea to Procurement-Ready RFQ

How to define an industrial machinery or production-line project, size it with the Global B2B Group calculators, and submit a structured RFQ for expert human review.

In short

Define the project first — product, capacity, country, automation level. Use the calculators to produce preliminary capacity, CapEx and TCO estimates. Then turn the result into a structured RFQ, which a human expert reviews before relevant manufacturers are selected. Global B2B Group is a procurement and project-development group, not the manufacturer.

Step 1 — Define the project before you ask for prices

A price is only meaningful when the project behind it is defined. Before requesting quotations, write down what the line or machine must actually do: the product or application, the target output (units per hour, shift or year), the project country and site conditions, the automation level you expect, and whether this is a new line, an expansion or a replacement. Two projects with the same nominal capacity can differ widely in cost once automation, utilities and scope are considered.

  • Product / application — what is being produced or processed
  • Target capacity — real saleable output, not machine nameplate speed
  • Project country and site — utilities, logistics, installation conditions
  • Automation level — manual, semi-automatic or fully automatic
  • Project type — new line, capacity expansion or machinery replacement
  • Budget range and expected procurement timeline

Step 2 — Use the calculators to size the project

Global B2B Group calculators turn your assumptions into preliminary planning numbers. They are free to use without any form or registration. Each result is a planning estimate based on the inputs you supply — not a manufacturer quotation or engineering design — and each page explains the assumptions, limitations and variables that can change the result.

  • Capacity / OEE — what output a line can realistically deliver
  • CapEx — equipment price versus total installed project investment
  • TCO — lifecycle cost: energy, labor, maintenance, spares, downtime
  • ROI / payback — how operating and commercial assumptions drive returns

Step 3 — Turn the calculation into a structured RFQ

After a calculation, continue directly into the RFQ builder — your values carry over so you do not enter the same information twice. A structured RFQ states the application, capacity, scope and operating assumptions clearly enough that a manufacturer can quote against it. Submitting a calculation as-is is optional: you review and approve everything before anything is sent.

  • Calculator results prefill the RFQ where relevant
  • You review and approve every field before submission
  • No automatic submission and no automatic buyer-to-manufacturer connection

Step 4 — Human review and manufacturer selection

Every RFQ is reviewed by a human expert — David — before any supplier is approached. Global B2B Group is a procurement and project-development group, not the manufacturer of the equipment: we verify the requirement, complete missing specification together with you, and then select relevant manufacturers for the project. Better definition leads to better supplier selection and a better procurement outcome.

  • Manual review of scope, capacity and assumptions
  • Missing specification is clarified with you, not silently invented
  • Relevant manufacturers are selected per project — no automated matching

Buyer Questions

Do I need a complete specification before contacting Global B2B Group?

No. An incomplete idea is a normal starting point. Define what you can — product, target capacity, country and automation level — and use the calculators to size the project. The review process helps complete the missing specification before any manufacturer is approached.

Are the calculator results a quotation?

No. Calculator results are preliminary planning estimates based on the assumptions you enter. Final equipment configuration, engineering scope and manufacturer pricing require project-specific verification through the RFQ process.

Does Global B2B Group manufacture the equipment?

No. Global B2B Group is a procurement and project-development group. Supplier and manufacturer directories support research and transparency, but buyers are not automatically connected to listed manufacturers — relevant manufacturers are selected per project after human review.

What size of project is this process designed for?

The workflow is designed for serious industrial projects — special machinery, industrial equipment and complete production lines — typically with a project value of $250,000 or more. Smaller buyers are still welcome to use the calculators and guides freely.
