    Kilograms per hour at peak season, not annual tonnage, determines plant capacity and whether batch cells or a continuous line is correct.

  3. 3. Choose the method before the supplier

    Blast cells, tunnel, spiral and IQF suit different products and labour models; deciding late makes bids non-comparable.

  4. 4. Split into packages

    Freezing equipment, refrigeration plant, envelope, handling and controls are tendered separately with a defined interface matrix.

  5. 5. Compare on energy per tonne frozen

    Normalise bids for kWh per tonne at stated design conditions, defrost losses, dehydration weight loss and warranty terms.

By product format and labour model. Cartoned and palletised product usually suits batch blast cells or a tunnel; loose, individually frozen pieces need a spiral or fluidised-bed IQF line with continuous handling.
